It's time for public child care

It’s a critical time for child care.

123 Busy Beavers, linked to ABC Learning Centres in Australia – the world’s largest child care corporation and traded on the stock exchange, has incorporated in Ontario.

Our campaign, It’s Time for Public Child Care, calls for the Ontario Government to stop licensing commercial child care to keep 123 Busy Beavers out of Ontario.

NDP MPP Andrea Horwath introduced legislation (Bill 26) that would:

  1. Restrict new child care licenses in the not-for-profit sector in the future
  2. Keep licenses for existing for-profit child care

The legislation may be debated as early as March 6. It is important that child care staff and parents support this important piece of legislation!
