The Care Counts campaign is a multi-year advocacy campaign aimed at securing decent work and pay for Early Childhood Educators and child care workers, as part of a fully and sufficiently publicly funded $10aDay early learning and child care program in Ontario, and across the broader early years and child care sector.
This campaign is part of the continued collaboration between the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario, the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care, and our partners and allies.
In 2022 we said that ECEs were WORTH MORE, and you agreed. So did thousands of educators, allies, and proud Ontarians. Together we fought to raise the wage floor for ECEs. We won a life-changing $5 increase for some of the lowest paid ECEs in the province.
In 2026 there is more to be done – to face down uncertainty and stand up for ECEs, families, children, and for EVERYONE who relies on the early years sector.
We’re standing together, and we’re doubling down. We know that CARE COUNTS, and we are not afraid to say that WAGES MATTER.
Join us on Thursday March 12th, at 7pm, to see what the CARE COUNTS campaign means for you.
Come to find your hope and reignite your passion, stay to be reminded that CARE COUNTS for you, too – you’ll get the opportunity to sign up to receive free “CARE packages” to bring the campaign to your community. You’ll learn what’s coming next, and share what matters to you, together we’ll create an art piece to commemorate the launch. We’ll hold door-prize draws, and you’ll get exclusive access to new ECE merch. We can’t wait to see you there!
